Hope and Joy in Prayer

11 For I know the plans I have for you,”
    declares the Lord
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.

nossa família:our family

One of my favorite memories
growing up was picking fruit/vegetables
fresh from the vine.

Warm from the sun, the tastiest
of treats, homegrown, and delicious.

Next best thing visit a local u-pick farm
Temecula Berry Company is a beauty.

Soul Thoughts

So, why Paris. Quite simply, it was our touchstone
for happiness-happiness that didn't relate to getting
ahead or conspicuous consumption.

Sit quietly and listen to your soul.

Our Lady of Fatima

Although the threads of my life have
often seemed knotted,
I know by faith, that on the other side of the
embroidery there is a crown.
                             Corrie ten Boom

Mericia, my oldest sister,
was devoted
to our Lady of Fatima.
She visited Fatima, Portugal during
her battle with cancer.

All these years later her example
still warms my heart.
She loved to pray the rosary.
It was a  beautiful devotion.

A Little Fairy

You know pumpkins, sometimes it just takes a fairy.

                                      To Wong Foo,
Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar

To Wong Foo is a film I will have to watch more
than once. Messages like: pull yourself up by the boot straps,
make the most of it, celebrate the kindness of strangers,
embrace diversity because you never know where you
will find a friend.

Remnants of the Past April 2015

This venue wasn't as nice as the one in San Jose
or the Madonna Inn location.  It was too small.
Tight aisles make the experience less than
favorable.  Still lovely vendors and merchandise.

I like room to look in all the nook
and crannies.

Junk in the Truck Recap

May 3, 2015
Junk in the Truck, Scottsdale, AZ

This is an amazing show in a venue
with wide open aisles.  We didn't
get to see much.

Holly was sick and I had to
catch I flight out to Fort Worth.

The Get-Along will be back.

Jacob's in the driver's seat.

Green. Beautiful green.

Exhaustion Sets In

Looking old…should be a boast about experiences
accrued and insights acquired, a triumphant signal
that you are someone who, beneath that white hair,
has a card catalog of valuable information.”

Longings

Remnants of the Past 2015

Only you know what is in your
heart.  The failed dreams and
the adventures.  The dreams
we don't have the courage to live.

The dreams we abandoned to live
more authentically.  The voices
of our souls we have smothered.

Middle-age is hard.  The responsibiliy
of a roof over our heads, food on the table,
and a bit of leisure.  Those
of us lucky enough to reach middle-age
understand time is fleeting.  It's time to get
on with the dream.

I have lived with crippling inaction
but I have also lived with the
courage to break away.

I am not, yet, who I was born to
be, but I am slowing traveling in
the right direction.

A longing fulfill is the tree of life.
                         Proverbs 13:12

On Not Being Brave

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
                                                     Philippians 4:131

Vintage Market, Turlock, CA

Soon I will be flying out to Fort Worth.
It's been nine years since I have traveled
alone.  For goodness sake, I have
four children spanning 20 years because
I like company.

This is the first time since I am this disabled.
I never rent a car so I will be counting
on public transportation.

The reservationist says my hotel
is only a block from the convention center.
A block, strikes fear in my heart.
I may not be able to walk a block
or walk the convention floor between
sessions.

Remnants of the Past

My greatest downfall, I don't like
to ask for anything but especially help.
As a little girl of 5, I had to speak for my
parents, ask questions, ask for help.
To this day this strikes fear in my heart.

When I feel the related anxiety, I engage in
self talk.  I speak English, I encourage my
heart and mind.  My parents came across an ocean,
across this great land, without speaking
a word of English  They were so
brave.  I don't feel brave.

Rosaries: The Hunt

"The LORD is my strength and my defense;
he has become my salvation. He is my God,
and I will praise him, my father's God,
and I will exalt him.

 Exodus 15:2

On the hunt for rosaries.
Making a beeline to the jewelry section for rosaries.

I don't want to pay a lot and they don't
have to be fancy or metal.  Can't wait
to share what we find.
